Prep highlights: Hartland's Bo Lockwood reaches lacrosse milestone in KLAA title win

Hartland senior Bo Lockwood became only the second Michigan boys lacrosse player to reach 500 career points Monday in a 17-1 victory over Canton in the KLAA championship game.

Lockwood had five goals and two assists, giving him 504 career points. He has totaled 232 goals and 272 assists in just three seasons, missing his sophomore year because of COVID restrictions.

He has 70 goals and 86 assists this season.

According to records at MHSAA.com and LaxRecords.com, Bryce Clay of Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central is the only other Michigan player to surpass 500 points. Clay finished with 608 in a four-year career that ended in 2018.

Mac Tognetti had four goals and two assists, while Drew Lockwood had three goals and three assists for the Eagles.

Hartland led 4-0 after one quarter, 11-1 at halftime and 14-1 after three quarters.

The Eagles have won five consecutive KLAA championships, winning the last two title games by a combined score of 36-4.

Softball

Fowlerville 15, Mason 0

After Fowlerville romped to a five-inning victory in the first game, the second game was scoreless through five innings. Each team scored a run in the sixth before Mason scored three in the top of the seventh.

Carlie Atcheson struck out nine batters and allowed one earned run in the nightcap for Fowlerville (19-7).

Halle Dargie struck out five batters in three innings to win the second game. Ashlee Dailey and Tommi Kleinschmidt each drove in two runs, while Tori Briggs was 2-for-4 with three runs.

Brighton 13, Ann Arbor Greenhills 3

Ashleigh Tatara had two doubles, a triple and two RBIs to lead Brighton.

Kylie Jordan drove in three runs for the Bulldogs.

Baseball

Mason 5, Fowlerville 1

Fowlerville 3, Mason 2

Fowlerville (3-18-1) snapped an 11-game losing streak by scoring twice in the top of the fifth inning of the nightcap.

Connor Tochman, who was 3-for-4, hit the game-tying single and Brendan Ray brought home the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly.

Griffin Gonzalez pitched seven innings, allowing five hits and one earned run.

Pinckney 16, Ypsilanti 1

Pinckney 20, Ypsilanti 0

Pinckney’s Nolan Carruthers was 4-for-4 with four RBIs in the doubleheader.

Alex Geyer had a home run and three RBIs in the first game, striking out seven in three innings on the mound.

Joey Downer didn’t allow a hit in three innings in the second game. The Pirates (6-16) scored 17 runs in the second inning.
