Prep highlights: Senior has No. 3 point total in Charyl Stockwell basketball history
Senior Henry Munkres had the third-highest scoring performance in Charyl Stockwell basketball history with 33 points in a 72-56 victory over Livingston Christian.
Munkres’ total trails only Jeremy Odoms’ 44 points against Livingston Christian on Dec. 11, 2018 and Tommy Wilson’s 35 against Webberville on Feb. 23, 2017. It’s only the fourth 30-plus performance in program history.
Munkres, who is averaging 21.5 points through four games, also had six rebounds.
Kian Rooney had 10 points, Louis Perri had 13 rebounds and Caleb Moore had five steals for the Sentinels (2-2).
Stockwell outscored Livingston Christian 20-8 in the third quarter after trailing 13-4 after one quarter and 30-29 at halftime.
In a 73-60 loss to Stockbridge, Munkres had 21 points, six rebounds and five assists. Parker Olejniczak had 14 points, while Drew Goodwin had seven points, six rebounds and four blocks.
Novi Christian 80, Livingston Christian 75
John Harris had 30 points and five assists, Caleb Nixon had 16 points, Brandon Zimbelman had 15 points and Bradley DeMasellis had nine rebounds for Livingston Christian.
Brighton 66, Carleton Airport 41
Trevor Viau had a strong all-around performance for Brighton with 10 points, seven assists, six rebounds and three steals.
Ashton Tomassi had 16 points, Jack Storey had eight points and seven rebounds, and Ben Anderson had seven points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs (4-1).
Brighton 66, Farmington 45
Ashton Tomassi had 25 points, Trevor Viau 13 and Grant Hetherton 11 for Brighton.
Mason 65, Fowlerville 40
Mikey Hatfield scored 10 points, Dillon Wieas had eight points and nine rebounds, and Brendan Ray had eight points for Fowlerville (1-3), which travels to Pinckney Thursday as part of a varsity doubleheader.
Fowlerville 66, Owosso 46
Alex Jonas and Brendan Ray scored 12 points each, while Dillon Wieas had 10 for Fowlerville, which had seven players score at least seven points.
Girls basketball
Charyl Stockwell 44, Livingston Christian 33
Lucy Fuchs scored 14 points, Erynn Dawson nine and Lauren Hammond eight for Stockwell (2-2).
Audrey Johnson had 22 points for Livingston Christian.
Hartland 38, Birmingham Groves 30
Aubree Meyer scored 12 points, while Ellie Laier had seven for Hartland.
Mason 36, Fowlerville 21
Angelle Haan and Julia Johnson had five points each for Fowlerville.
Corunna 42, Fowlerville 31
Julia Johnson scored 12 points for Fowlerville.
Grand Blanc 46, Brighton 30
Brighton (0-3) was shut out in the first quarter and trailed 18-7 at halftime.
Mary Copple, Liv Lutz and Sophia DeAngelis had six points each for Brighton. Grand Blanc’s Chelsea Bishop had 16.
Boys bowling
Plymouth 20, Brighton 10
Joey Coleman rolled a 222 for Brighton’s top game.
Salem 17, Brighton 13
Johnny Saunders had a 237 for Brighton.
Fowlerville 16, Lansing Unified 14
Brent Wood led Fowlerville with a 180.
Girls bowling
Plymouth 26, Brighton 4
Freshman Lillian Smiley rolled a 150 for Brighton.
Brighton 22, Salem 8
Lillian Smiley averaged 136.5 for Brighton.
Fowlerville 29, Lansing Unified 1
Emma Wilber rolled a 204 for Fowlerville.

Gymnastics
Hartland improved to 3-0 with victories over Plymouth and Tecumseh.
Delaney Gomolka scored 9.3 on beam, Rori Gregory 9.05 on floor exercise, and Brooke Zapfe 9.025 on floor and 9.0 on vault against Plymouth.
Emma Beres had a 9.2 on vault and Kate Gostlin scored 9.025 on floor for the Eagles against Tecumseh.
Brighton, Howell vs. Canton
Howell won the meet with 138.325 points, followed by Canton with 136.6 and Brighton with 135.95.
Howell’s Maria Petru scored 9.25 on bars, 9.25 on beam and 9.375 on floor. Teammate Kayla Forsyth scored 9.55 on vault, 9.15 on beam and 9.45 on floor.
Brighton’s Courtney Baylerian scored 9.025 on vault.
Swimming and diving
Pinckney 92, Temperance Bedford 89
Pinckney 95, Ypsilanti Lincoln 83
Juniors Lucas Mondro, Dylan Ray and Talon Koppmann each won four events in Pinckney’s season-opening meet.
All three were on the winning 200-yard medley and 400 freestyle relay teams. Mondro won the 200 freestyle in 1:56.36 and 500 freestyle in 5:20.65. Ray won the 200 individual medley in 2:04.07 and 100 breaststroke in 1:05.59. Koppmann won the 50 freestyle in 23.67 and 100 freestyle in 52.97.
Hartland 121, Swartz Creek-Flushing 55
Issac Davis, Tyler Davis, Josh Ray and Hudson Schick combined to win three relays for Hartland.
Isaac Davis also won the 50 freestyle, Tyler Davis butterfly and Ray breaststroke.
