Prep rewind: Holland wrestling wins Invitational

The Holland wrestling team is the Forest Hills Eastern 2021 Season Kickoff Team Tournament Champions.

Holland wrestled the Forest Hills Rangers in the finals and came out victorious with a score of 45 - 27.

"[We] showed a lot of heart and courage during the tournament," said Holland coach Nick Lewin. "The team came together and wrestled well as one unit."

Going undefeated on the day was Julian Segovia, Israel Castro, Cristian Castro, Michael Gibson, AJ Silva and Sam Jimenez.

Going 3 - 1 on the day was Damion Gallegos and Jasean Newsom.

Holland's team record improves to 6-0 on the year.

Holland will travel to Unity Christian on Wednesday to take on the Wyoming Wolves and the Hamilton Hawkeyes.

West Ottawa goes 2-2

The Panthers went 2-2 on Saturday at Zeeland West High School. Dual scores were as follows:

West Ottawa 46- Zeeland East HS, MI 32.0

West Ottawa-47.0 Hopkins 32.0

Hart 42.0 West Ottawa 26.0

The Panthers return to the mat at home for Alumni Night this Wednesday versus Traverse City West.

Boys basketball

Benton Harbor 78, Fennville 49

Zay Strickfaden led the Blackhawks with 17 points, Dylan Schut finished the game with nine of his own.
