Prep Roundup: Blissfield boys soccer gets first win in district

BLISSFIELD — The Blissfield boys soccer team has faced struggles this season, going 0-17 in the regular season with only six goals scored.

But the postseason is a chance to start anew and the Royals did with a 3-2 win against Monroe Jefferson.

Blissfield will play in the Division 3 district semifinal at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Milan against Ida.

The Bluestreaks shared the Lenawee County Athletic Association title with Clinton and are 15-1 on the season.

Sand Creek 3, Britton Deerfield 0

SAND CREEK — The Aggies picked up a sweep in Tri-County Conference play as it beat the Patriots in straight sets.

Sand Creek dominated in Set 1, 25-5, before closing out the match with 25-18, 25-21 wins.

MADISON TWP. — The Trojans improved to 28-8-2 and 11-0 in the TCC after taking down Erie Mason in four sets.

Madison split the first two sets, 25-18, 23-25, before winning a tight Set 3, 26-24, and finishing it out with a 25-19 win in Set 4.

ADRIAN — The top team in Division 4, Lenawee Christian, swept East Jackson before knocking off No. 3 Athens in three sets.

The Cougars (26-5) won 25-16, 25-14, against the Trojans before winning a tight first set against Athens, 25-23, before falling 19-25 and getting the win with a 15-12 victory.

PINCKNEY — Tecumseh won a pair of Southeastern Conference White Division duals as it beat Pinckney and Ypsilanti.

Tecumseh won 109-37 against the host Pirates while also topping the Grizzlies, 104-18.

Tecumseh won nine of the 12 events.
