PREP ROUNDUP: Buccaneers roll over Bucks 8-0 in district tourney

SAND HILLS — North Bay Haven got eight goals from eight different players to ease by Bozeman 8-0 in the District 1-3A quarterfinals on Thursday night.

With the win, the Buccaneers (10-5-2) advanced to the district semifinals against Walton on Saturday at Tommy Oliver Stadium at 4 p.m.

Darron Macon Jr, Carter Cole, James Betts, Cameron Nolte, Nicholas Harrison, Tristan Council, Conner Everhart, and Jacob Feldstein all scored goals for North Bay Haven, with Feldstein, Nolte, Harrison, Cole, and Betts all adding assists. Patrick Washburn also provided an assist.

The Bucks fell to 6-11-1 with the loss.

Girls basketball

Rutherford 64, Arnold 49

SPRINGFIELD — The Rams outscored the Marlins 42-23 in the second half to take the win and sweep the season series between the teams.

Ava Butler had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Rutherford (19-3) on 6 of 7 from the 3-point line, while Shakirah Edwards posted a triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, and Nautica Bouie added 13 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Ayonnie Houston had 12 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocked shots.

Lexy Griffin led Arnold (18-2) with 15 points, 12 assists, and five steals. Laylah Davis also had 16 points and six rebounds, while Karen Jones put in 16 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

North Bay Haven 43, Walton 40

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Kaylee Goodpaster scored 16 points to lead the Buccaneers (12-9), followed by Alana Gilbert with 10 points, and Aleena Khan with five points. Keara Ruffin had 10 points to lead the Braves (7-17).

Mosley 57, Marianna 39

LYNN HAVEN — Jakian Taylor scored 17 points to lead the Dolphins (11-11), followed by EJ Reddice with 13 points, Josiah McCall with eight points, and KJ Kyle with seven points.

Ny'keem Gainer was the top scorer for the Bulldogs (13-9) with 12 points, with Isaiah Spencer adding nine points.

South Walton 68, Arnold 50

SANTA ROSA BEACH — Cole Kring scored 16 points to lead the Seahawks (10-13), followed by Caleb Lindsey with 13 points, Remy Graham with 10 points, and Brice Wunder with eight points.

Alex Steen was the top scorer for the Marlins (9-13) with 23 points, with Jordan White adding nine points, and Eli McFatter seven points.

Bozeman 68, Rocky Bayou Christian 53

NICEVILLE — Noa McClelland scored a career-high 28 points to lead the Bucks (19-2) to their ninth straight win, with Joe Carpenter adding 18 points.

Josh Carpenter also had eight points and Lewis Lowder seven points.

North Bay Haven 79, Walton 67

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Chris Bibbs scored 26 points and Darwin Torres added 18 points to lead the Buccaneers (19-4) to their sixth consecutive victory. Taber Brown also had 11 points, and Zach Porter scored seven.
