Northwestern stunned defending state champion Waynedale, scoring four runs over the fourth and fifth innings to take the lead, and holding on to it from there for one of the program's biggest wins in recent years.

Cade St. Clair did his job in shutting down the Waynedale offense for most of the game, allowing just five hits and one earned run over six innings.
