Prep Roundup: Norwayne's Jaylee Wingate wins Ashland Invite race

Ashland Invitational
Both Wooster teams finished in the top 10 of the Div. I races and Norwayne, Smithville and Northwestern had teams place in the top five of the Div. II/III races at the Ashland Invite.
Norwayne's Jaylee Wingate put together another impressive performance to win the girls Div. II/III race with a time of 18:24.9. Smithville's Kaitlyn Carr placed second and Norwayne's Annabel Stanley finished third as the Bobcats earned a third-place finish as a team.
Meanwhile, on the boys side in the small school race, Northwestern's Kade Tegtmeier picked up another first-place finish, beating 83 other runners with a time of 16:57.9. Triway's Caden Speicher finished seventh, Norwayne's Tripp Wingate eighth and Northwestern's Jacob Wakefield ninth. Elijah Amstutz led Smithville's third-place finish by placing 11th. Norwayne finished fourth and Northwestern placed fifth.
Wooster's girls placed seventh of 21 teams in the Div. I race, led by Audrey Miller's 11th-place finish. The Generals boys were ninth of 21, led by Ethan Keating finishing 12th.

Facing some of its best competition of the season, Wooster went 2-1 at the Norwalk Invitational, picking up wins over Ontario (25-13, 20-25, 25-19) and Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (25-17, 15-25, 25-17) and losing perennial small school power Tiffin Calvert (25-23, 22-25, 18-25).
Sara Snowbarger was the Generals' most consistent player at the net, combining for 47 kills over the three games, with Megan Lantis pitching in 30 kills. Marin Dixon dished out 20-plus assists in all three games, going for 22, 29 and 28.
