Prep Roundup: Onsted's Ross, Terakedis continue to pace pack

HILLSDALE — As they have all season, Onsted's duo of Emmry Ross and Kara Terakedis led the pack Friday as they finished first and second respectively at the Hillsdale Academy Invite.

Both the Wildcats boys and girls took second overall as the boys finished with 46 points to Hillsdale Academy's 27 while the girls had 33 points to Hillsdale Academy's 29.

Brody Amthor and Mitchell Hiatt took second and third respectively in the boys race.

Coach Thoughts

Trevor Van Valkenberg, Onsted: It was a beautiful night to run and the Onsted cross country teams were challenged on a true cross country course with plenty of hills at the Hillsdale Academy Invitational. Both teams finished runner-up to a deep Hillsdale Academy team.

Homer Invite

HOMER — Lenawee County schools had a great showing at the Homer Invite as the Hudson girls took first while the Lenawee Christian boys won as well.

Hudson girls narrowly won with a score of 47 to beat out Pittsford (50), LCS (77), Addison (82), Homer (102), Athens (140).

The LCS boys posted a team score of 41, 25 ahead of Hudson (66), Madison (70), Morenci (113), Homer (128), Reading (145), Riverview Gabriel Richard (158), Michigan Center (188) and Addison (266).

LCS' Izzy Brooks took first overall by more than a minute while Hudson's Alex Czeisperger was the top local runner on the boys side, taking second.

Warrior Classic

BROWNSTOWN — The Tecumseh boys team traveled for the Warrior Classic where it finished fifth overall.

Tecumseh had a team score 141 to trail Monroe (70), New Boston Huron (75), Erie Mason (126) and Woodhaven-Brownstown (132).

Grant Fahle led Tecumseh as he took 10th overall.
