PREP ROUNDUP: Washington's late basket lifts Tornadoes to bounce back win

SANTA ROSA BEACH — Deondrian Washington made a driving basket with 8 seconds left to lift the Bay High boys basketball team to a 59-57 road victory over South Walton on Friday night.

Tramello Carter led the Torndaoes (15-6) with 20 points, with Tyberias McCree adding 12 points, and Washington 10 points. Timmy Brown scored eight points and Keigi Lilly seven points.

Remy Graham was the top scorer for South Walton (9-12) with 23 points, followed by Brice Wunder with 15 points, and Cole Kring with nine points.

Bay will next play Monday at home against Chipley.

Walton 50, Arnold 49

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Alex Steen scored 24 points for the Marlins (9-11) in the loss, with Jordan White adding 12 points and Carson King 10 points.

Demarquiae Goode was the top scorer for the Braves (9-8) with 25 points, with Armond Holmes adding 12 points.

North Bay Haven 76, Blountstown 70

BLOUNTSTOWN — Darwin Torres scored 20 points and Christian Bibbs added 19 points for the Buccaneers (15-4), with Taber Brown adding 15 points, Maurice Butler 10 points, and Airon Kilgore nine points.

Jordan Granger was the top scorer for the Tigers (8-4) with 19 points.

Girls basketball

Arnold 45, Walton 23

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS — Laylah Davis scored 19 points on 4 of 8 from the 3-point line to lead the Marlins (17-1), with Karen Jones adding 16 points. Lexy Griffin had eight points, eight assists, and 12 steals.

Mosley 50, Sneads 26

SNEADS — Guissell Puerto and Tillery Johnson each scored 10 points to lead the Dolphins (6-10), followed by Mandi Grontas with nine points, and Sherilyn Sanchez with six points.

Jada Coleman led the Pirates (1-17) with 10 points, followed by Tiearra Hall with seven points.

South Walton 55, Bozeman 13

SAND HILLS — Makenzi Jones was the top scorer for the Bucks (9-8) with five points. Ava Beckett was the top scorer for the Seahawks (16-1) with 12 points, followed by Ava Wehrlin with 11 points.

Emma Hawk also scored eight points and Nola Pleat had seven points.

North Bay Haven 39, Blountstown 38

BLOUNTSTOWN — Aleena Khan scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Kaylee Goodpaster added 11 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Buccaneers (9-8).

TaNiyah Washington was the top scorer for the Tigers (4-8) with 26 points.

Boys soccer

North Bay Haven 4, Rutherford 0

PANAMA CITY — Christopher Fussell, James Betts, Carter Cole, and Nicholas Harrison all scored goals to lead the Buccaneers (7-9-2). Nathan Holmes, Harrison, and Betts all provided assists, with Joe DeLuna making six saves.
