West Holmes 56, Triway 53 (OT)

West Holmes and Triway are both looking to make their deepest tournament runs in recent history and got a good taste of what playoff competition will look like against each other Saturday.

Ultimately, West Holmes did just enough to pull out the victory, holding Triway to just three points in overtime to pick up the win.

Brett Alberts and Kodah Allen put on a show, with Alberts' Huskies doing just enough to get the win.

Orrville's freshman star Allen scored a season-high 46 points, but Alberts had 30 of his own and the Huskies had three other players reach double figures to pick up the win.

Ethan Hann scored 18 of his game-high 34 points in the fourth quarter to help Norwayne pull away late.

WRESTLING

OHSWCA Division II Dual Meet State Championships

West Holmes placed seventh at the eight-team Division II state duals, facing a tough road after drawing top-seeded Buckeye.

The Knights lost their opening bout 64-6 and lost their first consolation match 46-27 to St. Vincent St. Mary before taking down Butler 40-31 in the seventh-place match.

Waynedale went 5-0 at the Bender Duals at River Valley, with five wrestlers picking up five wins.

Stephen Patterson, Caden Schmelzer, Cole Lewis, Robert McCork and Grady Posey all went 5-0 to lead the Bears.
