Prep roundup: Wrapup of the week's action in volleyball, cross country

George Jenkins girls win St. Cloud team title

Jaade McBride finished third, and Payton Rusk took fourth to lead George Jenkins to the girls team title on Saturday at the St. Cloud Invitational.

McBride ran 20:33.95, and Rusk ran 20:40.23.

Also in the top 25 for the Eagles were Kelsey Cook (19th in 22:27.34) and Grace Boatwright (21st in 22:59.80).

George Jenkins finished with 73 points.

Lakeland Christian took second with 93 points. Emma Wilkinson finished eighth in 21:26.14 to lead the Vikings.

Also in the top 25 for LCS were Sarah Bayes (13th in 21:56.47) and Lauren Bayes (24th in 23:13.56).

In the boys race, Santa Fe Catholic's Daniel Welling (17:30.20) finished ninth, Lake Wales' Cameron Gonzalez (17:45.40) took 13th, Lakeland Christian's Paulos Kicklighter (18:26.10) was 17th, and Lake Wales' William Windham (18:53.30) as the top finishers from Polk.

In the team competition, Lakeland Christian was fifth, and Lake Wales took 10th out of 19 teams.

McKeel boys win Open Division at Seffner Christian Invite

Erikson Wills finished sixth in 18:52.26 to lead McKeel to the boys team title in the Open Division of the Seffner Christian Invitational at Holloway Park.

Connor Cook also finished in the top 20 for McKeel. He finished 12th in 19:28.85.

Also from Polk, All Saints' James Lovely was 11th in 19:27.70, Mulberry's Derik Gomez was 17th in 19:47.65, and Auburndale's Elias Bowman was 21st in 20:06.83.

McKeel won with 123 points, and Auburndale took seventh out of 26 teams. Lake Region was 14th.

Auburndale's top runner, Colin Fetter missed the race to rest up, and Lake Region's top runner Israel Mirtil ran in the Elite Division. He finished 10th in 17:33.17.

In the girls Open Division, Anika Donohue finished seventh in 23:40.88.

Auburndale's Jasmine Harvell was ninth in 23:54.05 as Auburndale finished in seventh place.

Lakeland wins Frostproof Invite

Avery Smith ran 21:08 and finished second to lead Lakeland to the team title at the Frostproof Invitational.

Also for Lakeland, Beth Feder, Mattie Vann and Evely Hoffert finished 3-4-5, and Alena Kozul was was seventh.

Bartow's Regan Parrish took sixth to as the Yellow Jackets finished second, followed by Frostproof and Winter Haven.

For the boys, Frostproof's Jonathan Rocendo took second in (18:10.20). Geneva Classical's Ben Hill was fourth, and Winter Haven's Aaron wilson was fifth.

Geneva finished second behind Sebring, followed by Frostproof, winter Haven and Haines City.

Ridge's Schembri finishes 4th in Clermont

Ridge community sophomore Kruz Schembri ran 17:00.72 to finish fourth at the 12th Hawks on the Hill Invitational at Lake Minneola High School in Clermont.

Ridge did not post a team score.

Volleyball

McKeel 3, George Jenkins 1

Highlights: McKeel defeated Jenkins, 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-10. Mallory Swartz led with 13 kills and eight digs, Emory Hubbard had 10 kills and six digs, and Hope Kimsey had nine kills. Sofia Burke had six aces and six digs. Juleigh Urbina finished with 35 assists, six digs, five kills and four aces. Kendall One had 11 digs.

Highlights: Jenkins prevailed in straight sets, 25-10, 25-12, 25-15.

Winter Haven 3, Bartow 0

Highlights: Winter Haven defeated Bartow, 25-22, 25-18, 25-11. Rylee Tanner led the Blue Devils with 18 kills and 11 digs, and Emily Drier had 11 kills. Elle Floyd added six kills, nine digs and three aces. Arianna Santos had eight digs. Tori Martin had 33 assists.

Winter Haven 3, Davenport 1

Highlights: Rylee Tanner led the Blue Devils with 21 kills and 15 digs, and Emily Drier had 16 kills. Elle Floyd had five aces and eight digs. Arianna Santos had 17 digs, and Tori Martin had 33 assists and 17 digs. For Davenport, Janelys Perez had 20 kills and 12 digs, Amanda Monge had 12 kills and eight digs. Autumn Moore had 14 digs. Gabi Sanchez had 29 assists.

Highlights: Discovery won, 25-23, 27-25, 25-21. Jeanielee Cordero led Discovery with seven kills, 10 digs and six aces, and Leah Robles had six kills. Alyssa Nobles had 20 assists.

Kirra Lindsey had 20 assists, and Caroline Mank had 13 assists. For Lake Wales, Lily Weaver had 11 kills and 10 digs, and Sydnie Whitaker had eight kills and 10 digs. Kindyl Goff had 18 assists. Lilah Denton had 10 digs.

Highlights: Lake Wales outlasted Ridge Community, 23-25, 25-21, 24-26, 25-20, 16-14.

Highlights: Auburndale defeated Lakeland christian, 25-23, 25-17, 25-21. For LCS, Mac Ash led with four kills and five aces. Lillian Jacobs had 14 digs, and Emerson Valenti had 10 digs.

Highlights: Fort Meade won, 16-25, 25-19, 16-25, 25-9, 16-14. For Mulberry, Iana Figueroa Rodriguez had five kills and seven aces, and Faith McCall had four kills, five blocks and seven aces. Araceli Leon had 12 assists.

Mulberry 3, Geneva Classical 1

Highlights: Mulberry won, 25-19, 29-27, 14-25, 25-14. For Mulberry, Mayangelie Colon Davila and Faith McCall had five kills each. Iana Figueroa Rodriguez and Leah Wilson had five aces each, and Colon Davila had four aces. For Geneva Classical, Audrey Godwin had eight kills, and Sophie Dalen had six kills. Kate Scott had 10 digs.

Tenoroc 3, Oasis 0

Highlights: Tenoroc defeated Oasis, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18. Natasha Gomez Tarafa led with 17 assists. Kamryn Wilson had a strong night defensively, and Breanna Ingram was effective with her serves.
