Prep Soccer: Willmar scores three in first half to down Sauk Rapids

Sep. 21—A three-goal first half lifted Willmar to the victory at a wet Hodapp Field.

Ellery Lange scored two goals and Sam Christoffer had one for the Cardinals, who improve to 4-2-1, including 4-1-1 in Central Lakes Conference play.

Sauk Rapids (1-4-1, 1-5-1) scored on a penalty kick late in the second half.

Willmar next plays at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Cloud Tech.

Conner Levesque and Mark Arnold both had a pair of goals to lift Community Christian School of Willmar to a victory over Chain of Lakes at Ampe Park in Paynesville.

Jack Velyan had seven saves at goalie for the Eagles. Max Chapin also had an assist in the win.
