Prepare to vote by early October
Sep. 25—Election Day is Nov. 8, but those who miss some deadlines may not be able to vote.
Voter registration
The first is the voter registration deadline, Oct. 11.
Voters may register in person during normal business hours at the Boone County Clerk's office in the Boone County Courthouse; the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, 222 N. Lebanon St.; or while seeking public assistance.
Voter registration forms are available in public libraries, license branches, township trustee offices and town clerks' offices.
And online registration is available through 11:59 p.m. Oct. 11.
Absentee voting
Absentee voting varies from one county to the next but in Boone County will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 12-28 and only in the courthouse in downtown Lebanon.
Early voting
Early voting also varies by county, but will be available Nov. 3-5 and Nov. 7 in polling places throughout Boone County.
Because elections are now computerized, voters may cast ballots in any polling place in the county in which they live, not just the one nearest their home.

Those who are unwilling or unable to provide an ID may cast a provisional ballot and will have 10 days to provide the necessary documentation or affirm that one of the law's exemptions apply to them.
