Prepared for next step: Pottsville Area to graduate 192

May 24—POTTSVILLE — As the trumpets sound at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 192 members of the Pottsville Area High School Class of 2023 will filed into the district's Veterans Memorial Stadium for commencement.

In the event of inclement weather, ceremonies will take place at Martz Hall, according to information provided by the district.

Eileen Supko will be honored as the Pottsville Area distinguished alumna, and Pete McDonald is the faculty speaker, chosen by the senior class. McDonald teaches science at the high school

The class valedictorian and salutatorian was announced Tuesday evening during the honor graduate ceremony.

The senior class officers include Zoe Holden, president; Chloe Heintz, vice president; Madison Wright, secretary; and Gwen Biddle, treasurer.

Brian McMullin and Rusty Yost serve as class advisers.

Baccalaureate was held at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at First United Methodist Church in Pottsville.

Prom was held May 6 at St. Nicholas Hall in Primrose with the theme "A Night to Remember."
