Prescott reelects mayor Phil Goode, fills 4 City Council seats in primary election

PRESCOTT — Results are in for the Tuesday primary election in Prescott where two incumbent city councilmembers held onto their seats and current Mayor Phil Goode was reelected after running unopposed.

In addition to the mayor's race, voters were tasked with filling one two-year City Council term and three four-year terms.

Current Councilmember Connie Cantelme earned over 60% of the vote against challenger Tony Hamer to secure another two-year term. Cantelme was originally appointed to fill a vacant seat in 2022.

Councilmember Cathey Rusing was the top vote-earner for a second four-year term. Lois Fruhwirth, the former county chairperson of the Yavapai County Republican Committee, and Prescott Planning and Zoning Commissioner Ted Gambogi will fill the remaining two seats.
