Preseason South Dakota Prep Media Basketball Poll: Roncalli girls start atop Class B poll

The Roncalli girls basketball team, the defending Class A champion, is ranked first in Class B in the preseason South Dakota Prep Media Basketball Poll.

The Cavaliers, who moved down a class for this season, garnered seven of 10 first-place votes.

In the Class AA boys poll, Aberdeen Central starts the season raked tied for fourth. And in Class B, Aberdeen Christian is ranked third.

Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Sioux Falls Washington are at the top of the Class AA rankings for boys and girls basketball in the preseason poll. Class A is led by Sioux Falls Christian in boys and Winner in girls. De Smet sits atop of the boys Class B poll.

Of the six top-ranked teams, only Winner didn't win a state championship in the 2020-21 season.

The polls follow with teams are ranked by points received and first-place votes in parentheses.
