Presentation announces new hire as co-defensive coordinator

Former defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator for the program, Blake Mudd, has returned to Presentation College, this time as co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach for the football program.

Mudd was previously at Presentation from 2017 to 2018, according to a news release from the college. Before that, he served as a defensive assistant specializing with defensive backs at Northern Illinois. From 2014 to 2015, Mudd was an intern and offensive graduate assistant at Ottawa University in Kansas, where he coached running backs and tight ends.

Most recently, Mudd taught and coached at Lawrence High School in Kansas. Mudd graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in sports management and holds a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Ottawa University. He lives in Aberdeen.

“We are very excited to have Coach Mudd back on campus. He is an experienced and successful coach who knows the game of football and Presentation College inside and out. Most importantly, he is a man of high character who fits perfectly with the college and football team’s mission,” Head Coach Steve Heimann said in the release.

Heimann has been Presentation's head coach since 2019.

Presentation's season begins Aug. 25 with its first game against Mount Marty University in Aberdeen. Last season, the team went 0-11.
