President Biden publicly acknowledged his seventh grandchild on Friday — a 4-year-old girl, Navy, the daughter of his son Hunter and Lunden Roberts of Arkansas from a relationship in 2018.

Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” Biden said in a statement to People Magazine.

“This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter,” the President added. “Jill and I only want what is best for all of our grandchildren, including Navy.”

The news comes after a DNA paternity test confirmed that Hunter Biden was the father in 2020.

Roberts had sued for child support, and the two parties finally resolved the child support issues just last month.

In his 2021 memoir, the president’s son claimed his encounter with Roberts came while he was severely addicted to alcohol, cocaine and other drugs.

“I had no recollection of our encounter,” Hunter said in the book. “That’s how little connection I had with anyone. I was a mess, but a mess I’ve taken responsibility for.”

A source close to the situation told People that President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden had refrained from speaking out about their granddaughter partly because of the contentious legal proceeding between Hunter Biden and Navy’s mother.

“They are — and have been — giving Hunter and Lunden the space and time to figure things out,” the source said.

“At the center is a 4-year-old girl and everyone wants what is best for her, including all of her grandparents,” the source added.
