President Joe Biden has declined a Super Bowl Sunday interview on CBS, but Donald Trump says he is game.

In a Truth Social post on Monday, Trump taunted Biden saying the White House decision to decline the interview was a "great" one and mocked the president saying "he can’t put two sentences together."

Trump then offered himself up as a replacement: "I WOULD BE HAPPY TO REPLACE HIM - would be 'RATINGS GOLD!'”

On Saturday, CBS News said Biden had declined the network's offer to be interviewed ahead of the NFL's annual championship game.

The Super Bowl Sunday pre-game presidential interview had become a tradition of sorts.

Former Presidents Barack Obama and Trump both took the opportunity to offer their views on what is one of the highest watched network programming days in the year.

In 2020, Trump's final year in office, he was interviewed by Fox News' Sean Hannity at Mar-a-Lago the night before the Super Bowl LIV match-up between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers in Miami Gardens. Both teams will play again in this coming weekend's Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.

It's the second in a row year Biden has opted not to do the interview. CBS will telecast the game Sunday evening.

CBS had not responded to Trump's offer as of noon on Monday.
