President Joe Biden delivered remarks on Veterans Day, November 11, after laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

The White House streamed Biden’s remarks during the Veterans Day observance ceremonies at the cemetery’s Memorial Amphitheater on Thursday.

Biden thanked veterans for their service and promised to continue efforts to address issues facing veterans, including mental health and unemployment.

“To be a veteran is to have endured and survived challenges most Americans will never know,” Biden said. “And you’ve done it for us. You’ve done it for America.”

The president also reflected on his son, Beau, who served in the US Army.

“For me and for Jill and for the entire Biden family, it’s personal,” he said. Credit: The White House via Storyful
