- Homeowners struggling financially during this pandemic are getting more breathing room before facing possible foreclosures. President Biden is extending a ban on foreclosures of federally backed mortgages another three months until March-- or rather, June 30. The window to request mortgage forbearance, which grants a pause or reduction in payments, is also being extended until June 30. The White House says that more than 10 million homeowners are behind their mortgage payments.
