President Joe Biden congratulated the Georgia Bulldogs football team for winning their first national championship in 41 years after they defeated the Alabama Crimson Tide Monday night.

The 46th president of the United States took to Twitter to recognize the Dawgs "skill, grit and determination" after their historic win.

After more than four decades without a national title, Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs were able to get over the hump that has been Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide in a 33-18 victory.

Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were in Atlanta Tuesday, Jan. 11, to promote voting rights legislation at Atlanta University Center.
