President Trump sets 1st new rally for Juneteenth in Tulsa
Overnight protesters tore down several confederate statues, but President Trump ruled out renaming U.S. military bases named after Confederate leaders. As he returns to holding campaign rallies for the first time since the pandemic halted them, the president has chosen to hold the first one on June 19: Juneteenth, a day commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S. And he’s chosen to hold it in Tulsa, Oklahoma, site of a major incident of racial violence in 1921.
