'Having a hard time.' President Trump's brother Robert is hospitalized in New York

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump on Friday visited his brother Robert who has been hospitalized in New York and who the president described as "having a hard time."

The details of Robert Trump's illness were not immediately clear.

"I have a wonderful brother. We’ve had a great relationship for a long time," Trump told reporters Friday. "He's in the hospital right now. He’s having a hard time."

The president, who is expected to spend the weekend at his New Jersey golf resort, arrived at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan on Friday afternoon.

Speaking about his brother in Washington earlier in the day, Trump did not answer why his brother had been hospitalized.

ABC News, citing anonymous sources, reported that Robert Trump was "very ill."

It was reported that  Robert Trump, the younger brother of President Donald Trump, has been hospitalized in New York and is described by several sources as "very ill." Robert Trump, born two years after Donald Trump, made news recently for suing to block publication of a book critical of the president by Mary Trump, the president’s niece.
