President Zelenskyy discusses Ukraine's defense needs with Macron

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, during which they discussed the situation at the front and Ukraine's defense needs, the President's website reported on Feb. 10.
The two leaders talked about drones, artillery systems and shells, electronic warfare, and air defense systems, both portable and long-range.
Zelenskyy thanked Macron for France's support. In particular, for the launch of the Artillery Coalition by France and the United States, under which Paris will transfer dozens of Caesar artillery systems and shells to Ukraine.
The two presidents also discussed the preparation of a bilateral document on security guarantees within the framework of the G7 Vilnius Declaration.
"The active preparation of bilateral security agreements by leading European countries demonstrates Europe's leadership, motivates Ukrainian society and soldiers, and sends powerful signals to Russia about Europe's unwavering support for Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.
Ukraine’s head of state also conveyed his condolences to the families and friends of the French humanitarian workers who died as a result of the Russian strike in Kherson Oblast and wished the wounded a speedy recovery.
The last time Zelenskyy and Macron spoke was on Jan. 18.
