Felix Grosschartner secured overall victory at the Presidential Tour of Turkey on Sunday as the Austrian completed a near perfect week for both himself and his team.

Following an impressive outing at the previous week's Tour of the Basque Country where Bora-Hansgrohe rider Emanuel Buchmann finished third on general classification, the German squad won its first ever stage race through Grosschartner, while Irish sprinter Sam Bennett won the points classification.

“It is my first overall victory, like it is for the team Bora-Hansgrohe,” the 25-year-old Grosschartner said afterwards.

“I am so happy to have secured the overall win today. We were close to a stage win again but I think we did a great job today and the whole week. I knew that I am in a good shape and to take my first WorldTour stage win followed by the overall win is just a really big thing for me. I want to thank everyone, who was involved, helping me to achieve this.”

Meanwhile, Caleb Ewan won his second stage of the six-day race after the Lotto-Soudal sprinter beat Fabio Jakobsen (Deceuninck-Quick Step) and Bennett to the line in Istanbul.

The WorldTour continues at Flèche Wallonne on Wednesday ahead of the fourth monument of the season, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, on Sunday.
