Press conference: Pinellas deputy killed in hit-and-run on I-275; suspect on the run

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said a portion of I-275 is closed in both directions early Friday morning as they search for the suspect in a hit-and-run that killed a deputy. Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said Deputy Michael Hartwick, 51, was working an overnight detail assisting construction crews on I-275. "All I can say is, here we go again," Gualtieri said. "This is 18 months after Deputy Magli was killed. We go 110 years in the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office with no line of duty deaths — now we have two in 18 months."
