Press-Gazette's Thanksgiving edition arrives on Wednesday and is stuffed with stories, ads, puzzles
GREEN BAY – The Thanksgiving edition of the Press-Gazette has helped many a Black Friday shopper over the years, as it’s stuffed with retail ads and inserts.
This year’s edition will feature more local news, Shop Local and sports stories as well as popular puzzles and games to tide you over. And, it will be on newsstands and delivered to homes on Wednesday.
Here are the highlights:
Press-Gazette reporter Natalie Eilbert will have a front-page story on the science of gratitude and how it helps our emotional responses and how to practice it on a daily basis.
We’ll also have a list of holiday events in greater Green Bay from Thanksgiving until the end of the year. It will be your guide to what’s going on.
Packers business reporter Richard Ryman will give you some ideas for that Packers fan on your list.
Our food and drinks reporter Jelissa Burns will look at some places to eat when you’re looking for sustenance after a long day of shopping.
Our Streetwise reporter, Ariel Perez, will have a list of restaurants open on Thanksgiving if you’d rather leave the cooking to someone else.
The Packers reporters will have previews of the team’s Thanksgiving Day game against the Detroit Lions, including five things to watch and staff predictions.
Post-Crescent editor Taima Kern has headed up the Stock the Shelves campaign again this year. She’ll thank the donors who gave so generously and we’ll list and thank each donor.
As part of our “Shop Local” effort, we’ll have stories on businesses and shopping throughout the week, such as Black Friday store hours.
In addition to all our stories, we’ll have retailer inserts (more than a normal Sunday) and retail ads so you can map out your Black Friday shopping plans.
We’ll also have a special Thanksgiving section in the newspaper with stories on holiday food, gift guides, kids activities, puzzles and games, and the giant Thanksgiving crossword.
On Thanksgiving Day, an e-edition of that issue will only be available for subscribers.
Friday’s newspaper will return to both print and online and will feature:
Streetwise reporter Perez sharing two stories on Small Business Saturday – one for De Pere and one for Green Bay.
Plus, we’ll have coverage of the Packers' game on Thursday against the Lions.
Remember, the big Press-Gazette with shopping ads and tons of news will be delivered to you on Wednesday or waiting for you on the newsstands.
