Priceville's Garrison signs with Troy baseball

Nov. 11—Priceville's Jojo Garrison is one of six pitchers to sign in the past week with the Troy Trojans.

Garrison (6-foot-5, 230 pounds) gives first-year Troy head coach Skyler Meade a big-time arm. Garrison was a Daily All-Area selection last spring after going 5-0 with 34 strikeouts in 23 innings.

"Jojo is a winner who can already throw three pitches in the zone, has shown enough velo (92 mph) and has the physicality to withstand the rigors of Sun Belt baseball," Meade said. "Jojo has all of the makings of a big-time arm on the national level if he can keep developing physically."

Meade pitched at Louisville and competed in the College World Series. He has been a pitching coach at Michigan State, Middle Tennessee, Eastern Illinois and South Carolina.

Garrison plays at Priceville for head coach Preston Potter.
