River City Pride Fest

River City Pride Fest 2023, presented by Peoria Proud, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at Riverfront Park in Downtown Peoria. Admission is free and the event will include activities for the whole family. For more information and a full schedule of events, visit the www.peoriaproud.org.

BBQ Throwdown

The 2023 Central Illinois BBQ Throwdown will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at Eureka College, 506 E. Reagan Drive, Eureka. This event, benefiting St. Jude Runs, will feature BBQ teams from across the country, vendor booths, free inflatables, live music and more. For more information, visit www.cibbq.com.

Peoria Chiefs fireworks

The Peoria Chiefs will take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers with games at 6:35 p.m. Friday, July 14, and Saturday, July 15, and 1:05 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at Dozer Park. Friday and Saturday's games will feature a post-game fireworks show, and at Sunday's game, OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois will be presenting Kid's Day, with $5 tickets for children and the opportunity for kids to run the bases after the game. John Lodge in concert

John Lodge, legendary bass player, songwriter and vocalist of The Moody Blues, will present his "Performs Days of Future Passed" show at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at the Peoria Civic Center Theater. Tickets start at $29 and can be purchased at www.peoriaciviccenter.com.

Corn Stock Theatre kicks off its run of "The Drowsy Chaperone," a Jazz Age musical full of fun, clichés, and dancing from the Roaring 20s, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, July 15, in Upper Bradley Park, 1700 N. Park Road. The show will run through July 22 with performances at 7:30 each evening. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students college-age and under with an ID.
