He is a head of state, a reigning monarch… and on Thursday Prince Albert of Monaco announced that he has tested positive for the coronavirus.
In a statement, his office said that he is continuing work from his private apartments, where he remains in constant communication with members of his cabinet, the government and his closest staff.
His health is not a concern, the statement said.
Sixty-two year-old Prince Albert is the head of the centuries-old House of Grimaldi and son of the late Prince Rainier III and American actress Grace Kelly.
He has two sisters – Princess Caroline of Hanover and Princess Stephanie of Monaco.
His office said Albert is being treated by doctors from the Princess Grace Hospital, named after his mother.
