Prince Andrew 'considering second interview' on Jeffrey Epstein 'to set things right'
Prince Andrew is considering a second interview about his friendship with paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein after his appearance on the BBC was slammed, according to a Vanity Fair report.
The Duke of York was universally criticised by the public and commentators who called his interview a PR disaster when it aired on Saturday night.
Many thought he would stay away from the limelight but he is now apparently contemplating another TV appearance, according to a royal source.
Vanity Fair said a source told them there were rumours Prince Andrew wanted to "put right the things he didn't say" despite apparently telling his mum the Queen his initial interview was “a great success".
The source said: "Newsnight gave him the chance to show some remorse.
“He was asked if there was anything else he wanted to say. It was an open goal - he didn’t grasp it, and I think he sees that now."
Prince Andrew, 59, had responded to allegations made by Virginia Giuffre that Epstein forced her to have sex with him when she was 17 years old.
Andrew denied he slept with Ms Giuffre on three separate occasions, twice while she was underage, when he was pressed by Newsnight journalist Emily Maitlis.
He said the alleged encounter in 2001 did not happen as he spent the day with his daughter, Princess Beatrice, taking her to Pizza Express in Woking for a party.

The prince is facing a barrage of criticism, with the royal accused of a lack of empathy with Epstein’s victims and a lack of remorse for his friendship with the disgraced financier.
Lawyers for Epstein’s victims have urged the duke to tell US authorities what he knows.
During the interview, the duke twice stated his relationship with Epstein had some “seriously beneficial outcomes”, allowing him to meet people and prepare for a future role as a trade envoy.
American Ms Giuffre said the same alleged sexual liaison began with the duke sweating heavily as they danced at London nightclub Tramp.
But the duke said he had a medical condition at the time which meant he did not sweat.
He said he had no recollection of meeting Ms Giuffre.
Buckingham Palace added it was "not aware" of any plans for a second interview.
