From Town & Country

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla recreated an iconic photo, and royal watchers almost missed it.

On Wednesday, the day before their 15th wedding anniversary, the couple released a new image of themselves and their dogs. At first, the photo seems sweet and innocuous: just Charles and Camilla holding their dogs Bluebell and Beth, sitting at the entryway of Birkhall, their home on the Queen's Scottish estate. But the couple actually managed to subtly recreate a portrait of themselves from 2005, released on the day they announced their engagement.

That older photo also has the Prince of Wales and (soon-to-be) Duchess of Cornwall posed at the entryway to Birkhall, with a near-identical floral arrangement positioned behind them.

It's convenient for the pair that they happen to be self-isolating at Birkhall to mark this major anniversary, as they couldn't have recreated their engagement photo otherwise. It's also fortunate that Camilla was able to finish her 14-day period of self-isolation—begun after Charles tested positive for COVID-19, from which he's since recovered—just a few days ahead of their anniversary.

As recently as April 5, the Duchess was working from home by herself. For his part, Charles finished his period of isolation on March 30, following UK guidelines that recommend a week of quarantine following a diagnosis.

Back on March 26, the couple had to participate in a photo opp while socially distanced. The pair shared a video of themselves clapping—but not together—as a part of the #ClapForOurCarers campaign, to thank NHS workers on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis.
