Chris Packham and Prince Charles are reportedly planning to hold an environmental summit together.

The pair, who are both outwardly passionate about the planet and sustainability, met at Buckingham Palace in May, when Chris was awarded a CBE. They have apparently been in talks ever since.

“It was his idea that we should meet up and talk about things," said Chris on the subject, according to the Mirror. "We are just waiting to fix a date now.

“He [Prince Charles] has a keen interest in wildlife and I have always admired him for speaking out. He has spoken from the heart and a lot of what he says makes sense.”

Talking about his CBE, Chris said: "Maybe the silent have spoken, maybe a terrified fox, a wounded harrier or a trapped badger whispered and this is their thanks," reports the BBC.

The CBE comes after a tumultuous start to the year for Springwatch presenter Chris Packham. He has been the victim of a number of protests at his home after his environmental campaign group Wild Justice helped pass a ban on bird shooting. The acts carried out on his home, which included dead birds being hung from his gate, also came alongside death threats aimed at Chris.

But, in brighter news, a month after visiting Buckingham Palace, Chris is now embarking on the annual Big Butterflty Count by the Butterfly Conservation, for whom Chris is vice president. You can read more about how to get involved yourself here.
