Prince George and Princess Charlotte Have a Budding Artistic Hobby

During a recent appearance, mom Kate Middleton revealed a hobby of Prince George and Princess Charlotte—and the advice she gives them.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte love a lot of activities, as most children do. But it seems their latest hobby may be inspired by none other than mom Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge has an avid interest in photography. Recently, she became the patron of the Royal Photographic Society, and in 2017 she was awarded an honorary lifetime membership. She frequently takes official portraits of her own children: like Prince Louis for his first birthday or Princess Charlotte for her fourth.

And, as the Duchess herself revealed yesterday, George and Charlotte have a budding fascination with the same art.

When teaching school kids in a photography workshop yesterday, Middleton offered some advice, as reported by People. “Just look at everything around you. Maybe it’s in front of you, or far away, but choose your subject and focus in on it,” she said. “Get outside with your camera as well. George and Charlotte love it when we do that.”

Do we have royal Ansel Adamses on our hands? Perhaps so! And they have plenty of inspiration. Their Norfolk country home of Anmer Hall sits upon Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate, which is a whopping 20,000 acres. Last year, the Cambridge family Christmas card was shot in Anmer Hall’s woodlands.

Plus, this summer, the children will likely visit their grandmother up at Balmoral. The vast Scottish Highlands property includes a varied topography of mountains, forests, valleys, pastures, and gardens. Sounds both picturesque and photogenic.

While the royal kids’ snaps will likely remain private for now, we still secretly hope a Cambridge family art show is a possibility for the future.
