Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have had quite a year. From a whirlwind engagement to their statement-making wedding, the beginnings of Meghan's career as a royal, and an exciting pregnancy announcement, they have much to celebrate about 2018.

With that in mind, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are sending out their first holiday greeting as a married couple this December.

The photo that will be included in their Christmas card was first shared publicly on Twitter this morning by Kensington Palace. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are delighted to share a new photograph from their Wedding Reception at Frogmore House on 19th May," reads the accompanying message.

"The photograph, which features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card, was taken by photographer Chris Allerton."

Per reporter Emily Andrews on Twitter, "Chris Allerton was the contemporary photographer #harryandmeghan chose to capture stunning & intimate portraits of the couple’s wedding reception at Frogmore House on 19 May."

She also added, "He’s known for his fashion work, beautifully lit portraits and infectious sense of humour."

This photo, which features the newlyweds in silhouette from behind against a display of celebratory fireworks is the first of Allerton's to be shared publicly by the couple, and takes on even more significance given the news that Harry and Meghan plan to move to Frogmore Cottage next year to raise their first child together. The cottage is on the ground of Frogmore House, where they celebrated their marriage.

In addition to Harry and Meghan's, two other royal family Christmas cards were released this morning. Kensington Palace also shared the picture from the Cambridge family holiday greeting, and Clarence House posted Charles and Camilla's as well.
