Though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept their new baby's name a secret, they were preparing for the announcement even before she was born. Prior to their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor's birth, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, registered several domains in her name.

According to The Telegraph, the couple purchased both LilbetDiana.com and LiliDiana.com, among others. A spokesperson for the Sussexes also told The Telegraph that the couple registered a number of domains for a range of names they were considering.

A Sussex spokesperson commented further to People: "As is often customary with public figures, a significant number of domains of any potential names that were considered were purchased by their team to protect against the exploitation of the name once it was later chosen and publicly shared."

The Duke and Duchess's elder son, Archie, also has a website in his name, Archewell.com, which is also the name of the couple's media company and charitable foundation. Unlike Archewell, none of Lilibet's domains are currently active.

Lilibet's name holds particular meaning for the Duke and Duchess, as she is named after two important women in their lives—Queen Elizabeth and the late Princess Diana.

"Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales," the couple explained in the birth announcement.

Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m in Santa Barbara, California, where the Sussex family now lives. She is now eighth in line to the British throne, just after her brother Archie.
