From Town & Country

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be thousands of miles away from the other members of the royal family right now, staying in Los Angeles while the rest of the Windsors are self-isolating back in Great Britain, but that doesn't mean they're not keeping up with events across the pond.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex watched Queen Elizabeth's historic televised address about the coronavirus pandemic on Sunday, a source told Harper's Bazaar, and "were both moved" by what they saw. "They described it as not just a demonstration of experienced leadership, but also warmth, reassurance and comfort," the source said.

The publication also cited a source who confirmed that Harry had phoned his grandmother at the end of last week "to offer his support ahead of the broadcast."

In her speech, the Queen spoke about the difficulties of being separated from loved ones, due to the necessity of social distancing. "Many will feel a painful sense of separation from their loved ones," she said. "But now, as then, we know, deep down, that it is the right thing to do."

And later, on a more hopeful note: "We will succeed—and that success will belong to every one of us. We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will return: we will be with our friends again; we will be with our families again; we will meet again."

Warmth, reassurance, and comfort, indeed—it's not hard to see why Harry and Meghan were moved.
