Prince William, Invoking His Mum's Good Will Visits, Stops By Cancer Hospital
Prince William stopped by a cancer hospital Tuesday, bringing light and smiles into the lives of young patients, much in the spirit of his mother, Princess Diana.
The royal heir paid a visit to Daisy, a 6-year-old chemotherapy patient with no hair, who nonetheless beamed with pleasure in the prince’s presence.

William has assumed his mother’s role at the Royal Marsden Hospital, Europe’s largest cancer hospital. Diana was president and patron of the medical center until her death in 1997.
Daisy was surrounded by stuffed animals while William affixed an ID bracelet to her wrist. He also chatted with a 4-year-old boy named George and fawned over his art creations.

Princess Diana first visited the hospital on her own in 1982. Last year, her son and American designer Ralph Lauren broke ground on a breast cancer center funded by Lauren’s donation of $5 million.

William and his brother, Harry, will present the Diana Award later this week to 20 young people being recognized for their compassion, kindness and dedication to public service.
