Prince William's attempt at DJing in Ibiza sounds hilarious

DJ Willatron 3000! Willex! The King of Carnage! None of these were (as far as we know...) the alias adopted by Prince William during his brief foray into DJing in Ibiza, back in 2006.

Yes, you read that correctly – according to Kate Middleton's uncle, Gary Goldsmith, who appeared in the recent divisive documentary about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's royal wedding, the future king once had a go at spinning a few tracks over on the party island.

Gary, who owned a villa known as La Maison de Bang Bang over there, explained during the programme that he leant his home out to his niece and the prince while they were dating and gave them the "full Ibiza experience". He added that William had quite the royal-themed shout out to amp the crowd up during his set too...

Speaking on camera, Gary said, "They've [William and Kate] had the full Ibiza experience and they've had a really good time. My friend was there who was helping them set up the outdoor DJ and he was teaching William about the beats and how to drop a track."

Gary continued, "He said the most important thing is to have a shoutout, something to say when you drop a really good track. Apparently William's go-to was 'The King is in the house!' which I kind of love." Y'know what Gary, SAME. Just going to pause for a moment here, to really absorb that whole image. Quite obsessed with it tbh.

Just to help you along with picturing that scene too, here's a shot of the Duke and Duchess during a trip to an Australian youth community centre in 2014. Clearly Kate is hoping for a repeat performance and a shout out, no?

During the documentary it was also revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton's eight-tier wedding cake was on such a grand scale that a door had to be taken off its hinges in Buckingham Palace (much to the Queen's amusement).

The couple will be celebrating their ten-year wedding anniversary on the 29th of April... we wonder if a new set of decks might be on the cards as a potential gift from Kate?
