From Town & Country

While some other royals-ahem, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands-went for sensory overload on the first day of Royal Ascot, Princess Anne carved out her own, more practical sartorial path.

Anne arrived in an understated hat and coat combination. She'd previously worn the look all the way back in 2007, to attend a Westminster Abbey service honoring Queen Elizabeth's diamond wedding anniversary. Anne mixed the look up a bit, switching out the brooch and selecting a more colorful scarf, but largely kept it consistent.

The princess is no stranger to recycling outfits. Just this past month, Anne wore a perennial favorite for Lady Gabriella Windsor's wedding. She'd donned the yellow-and-navy look at least three times prior to Ella Windsor's nuptials, starting with 2007's Easter service at Windsor Castle.

But her royal outfit archive reaches much farther back than the mid-aughts, and Anne isn't afraid to pull out something made decades ago. This past year, she resurfaced a coat that she'd first worn all the way back in 1985. And while some would opt to update a nearly 40-year-old design-pull a hem in here, change the fastenings there-the princess happily wore it as-is.

Anne's penchant for rewearing fits well with the other information royal watchers have learned about the princess's personality. The Queen's only daughter is famously hard-working, and last year, completed more royal engagements than any other member of the House of Windsor. It marked the second year that Anne had come out on top.

Yes, Anne gets the job done-often, multiple jobs in the same look.
