Who will be Princess Beatrice’s bridesmaids?
Princess Beatrice, granddaughter to the Queen, will marry Italian businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on Friday 29 May at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace, with a reception to follow at Buckingham Palace. We know the date, we know the venue, but what we're still waiting on is the royal guest list - including who's in the bridal party.
The pair have attended their fair share of weddings in the last couple of years (both as a couple and separately), including sister Eugenie’s wedding in October 2018 and singer Ellie Goulding’s marriage to Caspar Jopling last summer, so we know the couple's guest list will be full to the brim with plenty of famous faces. But the specifics, so far, are scarce. Which leads us to speculate exactly who might feature in Beatrice's line-up of bridesmaids, flower girls and pageboys...
Princess Eugenie
Realistically, Princess Eugenie is most likely to be chosen as her sister's Maid of Honour. Not just because Beatrice was her maid of honour at her wedding to Jack Brooksbank, but because, well, she’s her sister (and most likely best friend).
Princess Charlotte
It's expected that Prince William and Kate Middleton’s children will be attending the royal wedding of 2020. Princess Charlotte has fully embraced the bridesmaid role in her four small years, assuming the role at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, as well as Pippa Middleton’s, Princess Eugenie’s, and godmother Sophie Carter’s. So Princess Beatrice and Edoardo's wedding could well be her fifth time at being given bridesmaid duties. At least she'll be an expert by now.
Prince George
Another returning favourite we expect to see in the bridal party is William and Kates eldest child, Prince George. Just like his sister, George has been a page boy in four previous weddings - and as he gets older, he gets better (and funnier) in the role of leader of the young page boys. Prince George often steals the show at royal events, with his many faces and relatable moments, so he's a very likely addition for Beatrice's bridal party.
Prince Louis
With little brother Prince Louis turning two in April, there's every chance he could be a part of Beatrice’s page boy troop, too. At two, he may be deemed old enough to at least be a small part of the wedding. After making his first royal appearance just under a year ago, when he joined the Queen’s birthday celebrations at Trooping the Colour, we're really hoping this year will see his first royal wedding.
Savannah and Isla Phillips
Sisters - and daughters of soon-to-be divorced Peter and Autumn Phillips - Savannah (9) and Isla (who will be 8), have been a part of various royal weddings in the past too. Savannah in particular has been a standout comedy character in royal events gone by, including at Princess Eugenie's ceremony where she tried to make Prince George laugh during their procession down the aisle. Fingers crossed these siblings will get a place in the bridesmaid lineup so we can look forward to plenty more hilarity on the day.
Archie Mountbatten-Windsor
There has been speculation on whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will even attend Beatrice’s wedding at all, now they're living in Canada. But, if they are able to show up, will their son Archie (the youngest member of the royal family) be included in the celebration? Unlikely, considering he'll only be just over a year old at the time of the wedding, but if we're lucky maybe he'll be there in his mum and dad's arms as a guest.
Mia and Lena Tindall
Great granddaughters to the queen (and daughters to Zara and Mike Tindall), Mia and Lena Tindall may be young, but they are very likely to be including in the wedding party. Mia was a bridesmaid at Beatrice’s sister’s wedding, but Lena was only 4 months old at the time so definitely too young to have any kind of duties. This time around, however, Lena will nearly be 2, so she could stand a chance at joining the other teeny tiny members of the royal wedding party.
Theodora Williams
She made Princess Eugenie’s bridesmaid list (and made everyone laugh with her alarmed reaction to the trumpets, and thinking Sarah Ferguson was the Queen). So what's to say she won't make Princess Beatrice’s, too? Robbie and Ayda Williams may not be royal but they are very close to Beatrice and her sister. It’s even been reported that Robbie calls Beatrice ‘sis’. So if there's that kind of bond going on, there’s no reason why the 7-year-old wouldn't be included this time around.
Lady Louise Windsor
As one of the youngest grandchildren to the Queen, Lady Louise Windsor is often kept out of the limelight. She hasn't been a bridesmaid in a royal wedding for a while (the last time was Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011). Perhaps being a teenager (she's now 16) it's thought she might not fancy lining up with all the young'uns. But who knows, Lady Louise might have a particularly strong bond with her cousin Princess Beatrice and could possibly make the bridesmaid list after all.
James Viscount Severn
Princess Beatrice could invite her cousin, 12-year-old James - who's the younger brother of Lady Louise - to be a part of her bridal party. Neither he nor Louise featured in Princess Eugenie's lineup, so adding him in might shake it up a little.

Finally, this is a question we have an answer to. Well, we're pretty certain we do anyway. Despite only being two-years-old, it is widely believed that Edo's young son, Christopher Woolf Mapelli Mozzi (nicknamed Wolfie), will be his dad's best man. Speaking to MailOnline, an insider said: "I can confirm that Wolfie will be best man". Although nothing has been confirmed yet by Buckingham Palace in terms of details for Beatrice and Edoardo's wedding, this is thought to be the most certain prediction of them all. And how cute will little Wolfie look up there at the altar with his dad? Can't cope.
