  • Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi look set to get married on May 29 this year.

  • The couple announced their engagement in September, but are yet to officially reveal the date.

Another royal wedding could be here sooner than we imagined, if the rumours about Princess Beatrice's wedding date are anything to go by. We've been patiently waiting for an announcement since her engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi was revealed last September, and now People reports that it'll be held on May 29. Yes, this year.

While nothing has been officially announced by the Palace yet, an official confirmation is expected in the coming days. Until then, People says the ceremony will be held in London, with the reception at Buckingham Palace.

A source told the publication that it is intended to be a "low-key" wedding.

One thing we do know, though, is that the wedding is unlikely to be televised. An ITV spokesperson has confirmed that the channel has "no plans to stage a special show featuring just the [Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's] royal nuptials." They will, however, be reporting on their wedding as part of their usual ITV News programmes.

Given the recent family drama, it's no wonder the palace has been slower than usual to release information. Princess Beatrice has been forced to contend with the public scandal surrounding her father, who stepped down from royal duties amid the scandal surrounding his connections to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Meanwhile, both Princess Beatrice and Eugenie were identified as potentials to step up their royal duties in the wake of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from their official senior roles.

One thing's for sure; it's going to be a busy year for Beatrice.
