Princess Eugenie Just Rewore a Gorgeous Floral Erdem Dress for Today's Appearance with the Queen
Every year, Queen Elizabeth celebrates Maundy Thursday-a Christian holiday on the Thursday before Easter-by handing out commemorative purses, filled with special coins. This year, her granddaughter Princess Eugenie joined her for a rare joint appearance.
Eugenie opted to rewear a high-necked, printed Erdem dress for the occasion. She'd previously been spotted in the look at the U.N. in New York City, as well as at this past summer's Royal Ascot, when she paired it with a wide-brimmed hat and an Yves Saint Laurent purse. For Maundy Thursday, Eugenie toned it down a bit, opting instead for a braided navy hat. A nosegay (traditional Maundy Thursday bouquet) finished off the look.
For her part, Queen Elizabeth sported a Stewart Parvin monochrome look, and a hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan-all in a very Easter-appropriate shade of bright yellow. She finished off the look with one of her trademark Launer handbags, a label she's been a fan of for decades.
The Queen handed out Maundy money to a group of senior citizens, who'd been recommended by clergy from all denominations for their service to their communities and churches. The commemorative coins included in this year's purses celebrated Queen Victoria's 200th birthday, as well as one of the U.K.'s most enduring fictional characters, Sherlock Holmes.

It's rare that Princess Eugenie joins her grandmother for official engagements, especially when the whole family isn't attending. According to the Daily Mail, Eugenie last appeared alongside the Queen in 2009 (and as this was prior to Prince Philip's retirement, he was there as well). But seeing as the princess was married last year in St George's Chapel, the site of the Maundy Thursday service, it makes perfect sense that she'd accompany the monarch.
