Britain’s Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, welcomed their first child on Tuesday, the royal family said.

The eight-pound baby boy was born at 8:55 a.m. local time at The Portland Hospital in the Marylebone neighborhood of London, according to Buckingham Palace.

Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, were alerted and were delighted, according to the palace. The boy, whose name was not immediately revealed by the royal family, is the queen’s ninth great-grandchild.

Princess Eugenie, 30, posted a black-and-white image of a tiny hand, touched by two larger hands, and captioned the picture with three blue hearts. She and her husband married in 2018.

The princess is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.

People magazine reported that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle privately offered their congratulations.
