Princeton High all-state football player headed to 'dream' school in the Big Ten Conference

Teegan Davis will play in the Big Ten Conference.

The Princeton High senior and all-stater announced his commitment to the University of Iowa on Monday, according to a post on his social media. The defensive back prospect de-committed Friday from Eastern Illinois.

"I have been dreaming of playing (at Iowa) since I was a little kid," he said in his post.

Davis announced he was offered a scholarship after a visit on Sunday. The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder played both quarterback and defensive back for the Tigers (11-1), who made a run to the Class 3A quarterfinals, losing to eventual state champion Elmhurst IC Catholic.

Davis is a three-sport standout, as part of Princeton's football and basketball teams — and the defending Class 2A high jump state champion. He is expected to play defensive back at Iowa.

“He’s one of the best lockdown corners I’ve ever seen," Princeton coach Ryan Pearson told the LaSalle NewsTribune. "Any attribute you can think of that you want a defensive back to have, Teegan excelled at.”
