Principal Appreciation Month: Coldwater students honor school administrators

October is Principal Appreciation Month and it showed at the Coldwater School Board meeting.

Students from every building presented the principals with gifts and words of thanks.

Students Ansley Cafarelli and Mason Marbaugh of Max Larsen presented Julie Farmer with a rolled up poster. When Farmer unfurled it, Ansley stated, “That’s a lot of coffee.”

The message on the poster: “We love you a Latte” was surrounded by various pictures of coffee.

Tobi Reardon, principal of Jefferson Elementary was honored by Josiah Livings, William Porter and Kai Porter who took turns thanking her for being nice and for occasionally playing with them on the playground.

Gary Dancer of Lakeland Elementary went home with a bag full of goodies after his staff of Brenday Flower and Elizabeth Snyder with the assistance of students, Alayna Brakke, Hadessah Englehart and Cloe Rocha Gonzalez, showed their appreciation illustrated with treats such as Snickers, Extra gum, Goobers, pop corn, Smarties, Lifesavers, $100 Grand candy bar.

“I was so worried they were going to share the story from earlier last week,” Dancer said. “I was pushing a table down the hallway and a student said, ‘Whoah! Even you’re working today?’”

Three Legg Middle School students addressed Julie Slusher, principal and Adam Supianoski, assistant principal. Gia Poradzisz, in eighth grade, Keiara Collins sixth grade and Jaliana Zepeda, a seventh grader who did the acronym using the first letter of their last names to describe the principals’ attributes.

When Zepeda finished Slusher she looked at Supianoski as if to say — “You too!” and launched into his longer acronym.

High school principal Bill Milnes and assistant principal, Krista Searls were honored by student leaders Sharefa Aboali, Ayat Alsoofi and Grady Brockway who thanked both principal by turn.

They concluded with, “We are forever grateful for all you do,” said one and together said, “Go Cards!”

Terry Whelan, Coldwater Superintendent also honored Todd Farmer, athletic director, and Penny Brockway, director of curriculum and instruction since there are no months designated for everyone who deserves appreciation.
