Private school teacher arrested for sexual texts with student, Orange deputies say
A science teacher at Winners Primary School was arrested Monday after a student revealed texts and phone calls showing the teacher requesting sexual videos for payment, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
Dion Bryant, 25, was booked in the Orange County Jail on charges of lewd conduct with a student by an authority figure, use of a child in a sexual performance and unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
According to an affidavit, Bryant gave a student his phone number and later proceeded to solicit explicit videos from the student, threatening to give them poor grades if they didn’t comply.
Three videos were sent in the last month, detectives found.
Deputies spoke with Bryant at the school, but redactions in the affidavit made it unclear what was said before Bryant demanded to speak with a lawyer.
Winners Primary School, a private Christian school serving pre-K through high school students, declined to comment.
Bryant was released on a $5,300 bond.
