Amazon Studios has enlisted Priyanka Chopra Jonas to star in its upcoming action film “Heads of State" alongside John Cena and Idris Elba.

The movie, which is set to begin filming in May, is being directed by Ilya Naishuller with a script written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, Deadline reported.

Exact plot details have yet to be shared, but “Heads of State” is described as “Midnight Run” (1988) meets “Air Force One” (1997), or a blend of action comedy and political action thriller.

Chopra Jonas is already part of another Amazon project: the high-budget spy thriller “Citadel,” which will premiere on April 28. In the series, which has already been renewed for a second season, she plays agent Nadia Sinh alongside actors Richard Madden and Stanley Tucci.

Her addition to “Heads of State” comes amid other notable projects, including an upcoming role in James C. Strouse’s “Love Again.” She will notably be producing and possibly starring in an adaptation of Tanya Selvaratnam's 2021 book “Assume Nothing,” which follows the story of Selvaratnam's relationship with Eric Schneiderman, the former attorney general of New York and prosecutor of Harvey Weinstein.
