Pro-choice supporters gathered for abortion rally at Bridge of Lions Saturday

People gathered at the base of the Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine Saturday to show their support for women's rights over their reproductive choices.

Demonstrators rallied from coast to coast last weekend as the nation awaits a Supreme Court decision that could overturn a woman’s right to an abortion. More than 380 events were planned for Saturday, with the largest gatherings in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and other big cities.

Marsha Turner was one of the many supporters who turned out in St. Augustine on Saturday.

"I am here to protest for all the women and to make sure my daughter is never forced to go through a pregnancy that she doesn't want," Turner said. "Abortion is very misunderstood. I wanted my two children, but I still had six miscarriages and an abortion for a stillborn child at 36 weeks. The ignorance is appalling."
